ART IN FLIGHT
ART IN FLIGHT is an FCCLA initiative dedicated to transforming the Central Wisconsin Airport into a gallery that displays the creativity of young adults in our community. FCCLA is the Family, Career, Community, Leaders of America organization and is all over the nation. This display is a showcase of talented high school artists, transforming the airport into a welcoming and inspiring place of travel. Art in public spaces enriches communities, reduces stress for travelers, and highlights the unique identity of our region. By featuring student artwork, we not only enhance the travel experience at CWA, but we also encourage youth involvement and connections to our community.

Community Art Project with Sculptor Tom Hill
FLOCK TOGETHER
In fall of 2021, San Francisco-based sculptor Tom Hill worked with Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum to create a sculpture depicting a murmuration, the flocking behaviors exhibited by hundreds or even thousands of birds flying together to form cloud-like shapes that move, twist and transform in the evening sky.
From 2021-2024, the sculpture of almost 1,000 wire birds, known as "Murmuration", resided at the Museum, dazzling visitors with its scale and subject. Because of the artwork's focus on flight, CWA is the perfect location for its migration.
"Flock Together" is not only the title of the re-imagined work at CWA, but represents the partnership formed between the Museum, Airport and Tom Hill.
We hope visitors from around the country and world will appreciate this monumental community-made artwork, including the work of Hill, students of the Mosinee High School, airport employees and the public.

Nestled in the center of the terminal, Gallery 164 is filled with beautiful paintings and photography crafted by local artists. The works of art on display are available for purchase and artists' contact information is conveniently displayed beside each piece in the gallery.
